Original Oil Painting on Canvas, 24" x 36"
Primarily self-taught, Charles Joyce paints representational landscapes of local urban and rural scenes in oil and acrylic, focusing on the play of light on surface. He has exhibited at galleries in Philadelphia, its suburbs, and at the Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show, where he has been a featured artist since 2003. This painting was inspired by a photograph taken by his daughter Cara. He lives and has his studio in Media, PA. More of his work can be seen at his website, www.ctjoyceart.com

Since I was a little girl, my Wish was that nobody in the world would get ill. I always put my heart and soul in all my paintings, especially if the idea or a theme of it is very sensitive and dear to me. This painting is about a Wish come true for a little girl.
There's no better reword than knowing that your art brings emotion and happiness to people.

Oil painting and collage on canvas panel. 14.5" x 18.5"with black floater frame. Wired and ready to hang!
My oil painting, "What Is A Man Anyhow?" is in honor of Walt Whitman's 200th birthday and is Inspired by the poem, "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman. My interpretation of the poem, "Song of Myself" reflects Whitmans's views on the inequity of life in America during his time. Whitman communicates his torment and thoughts on mankind and the contradictions of democracy in the late 1800s. His words from the 1800s are as relevant then as they are today in the 2000s. For my painting, I used an excerpt from Section 20 of the 1892 version of "Song of Myself." The torment of the poem is reflected in the subject of the painting's facial expression as well as his gesture. And I loved the verse - "I will wear my hat as I please."

Robert Griffing grew up in Linesville, Pennsylvania, where he roamed the fields & beaches around Pymatuning Lake collecting stone artifacts, the key factor in his love of history & native cultures. After graduating from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh & a 30-year advertising career, he returned to his early fascination with the 18th century Eastern Woodland Indian. Griffing decided to devote his time & energy to his passion after receiving an enthusiastic response to his early paintings.

Chris Curchin, OIL ON CANVAS, 40" x 30" Strip framed.
Oil on canvas painting of figures on an elevated train, painted with lines, dots and primary colors.
My figurative work involves faces and figures decorated with dots of color in motifs of flower, rosette, teardrop, scroll and leaf. For me the paintings express an allusion to mortality, matter and energy fields. There are dot elements in decorative techniques used around the world in various forms. Mine developed out of restoration work on Morrocan painted furniture but later evolved in connection with my experiences with meditation and Reiki.
